Nasty smelling basement
We had a homeowner call us and tell us that their basement constantly smells like sewage for some reason. You can see the drain pipe that someone forgot to cap off letting nasty drain gasses into the home. Definitely something that should have been found during the home inspection when they bought the house.

Plastic Exhaust
Plastic exhaust vents are a danger and should never be used for a dryer. It is a fire hazard and only rigid or flexible metal can be used. Checking to make sure you don’t have a plastic exhaust could stop a fire from occurring down the road.

Not Insulated Properly
Insulation needs to be at a minimum of r-32 in the attic. The more the better r-50 is what the current standard is for new homes. We lose a lot of heat through the attic when it is not insulated and sealed properly.
Missing Pipe
Obviously, someone didn’t have enough pipe to finish. Problems are present even in brand new homes. Don’t forget to get your Home inspected for it’s 30 Day inspection, 1 Year or 2 Year
Poor Ventilation
Frost in the attic from poorly vented plumbing stack. If the Frost and Moisture from the pipe are not repaired Mold will start to form on the inside of the plywood sheathing of the roof.
